CJST (Contemporary Jewellery Symposium Tokyo) was founded in 2019 by artist Takayoshi Terajima together with Takashi Kojima. Its aim is to revitalize contemporary jewellery culture in Japan and initiate a movement that will endure in art history. CJST works through three core projects: critical symposiums, open-call exhibitions, and museum donation initiatives that build institutional foundations.
This exhibition marks the third open-call project, focusing on the brooch as its central theme. Artists from diverse
backgrounds reconsider the brooch from their own perspectives, exploring its conceptual, social, and artistic
possibilities.
